Will you help me Run For Heart?
This June I'll be feeling my heartbeat as I move a marathon distance to support people in Australia impacted by heart disease.
As many of you know at the start of this year 2025 my dad had a cardiac arrest whilst playing his much loved sport "Hockey". With his team mates rushing to his side, giving life saving CPR and using a defib..my Dad's life was saved. To those men we will be forever grateful as if it wasn't for their quick acting, their knowledge on CPR and having a defib at the sporting grounds things would look a lot different today. Dad then underwent intense surgery for a quadruple open heart bypass. Nearly 6 months on and Dad is counting down the days to get back out onto the hockey field of course! This is for you Dad, and for many more affected by heart disease. And please check in with your workplace, your gym, local sporting center or even the local pub...do they have a defibrillator? It could just possibly save someone's life.
