Over half way!

Thanks so much for everyone's support!

I've been enjoying the challenge and the motivation to keep going. I'm back running intervals and building up my fitness levels slowly, and walking everyday.. We've even raised enough that I received a surprise shirt in the post for my runs (wahoo!)

Appreciate you all - Thank you ❤️

Lots of love

We got through another May..

May sucks basically. We lost Dad unexpectedly on May 16th in 2023, due to a series of complications and undiagnosed heart disease. It's also the month we lost Jack (pop) and Bern (fat-nan) Nelson, my grandparents and Dad's folks.

This May was a particularly tricky and grief-y month for me, and in ways, It seems to be feeling harder as the months go by. I'm finding I feel the absence more deeply lately; in the big milestones, the different challenges that arise, and the celebrations that, at times, feel incomplete without Dad.

I made a promise to myself that I'd pick myself up in June, and work on rebuilding structure and reforming some of my healthier habits.

RunforHeart is a fundraising campaign that suports vital heart research and programs. I feel incredibly proud to work for the Heart Foundation in the Walking Program, and get to see first hand, the impact our programs and research have in community.

So, this June, I’m putting my short distance skills to the test by very slowly conquering just over 1 and 1/2 marathon distances, or 69km in total, marking Dad’s age when he passed.. One slow jog (or slog) at a time!

I can hear Dad in my head as I'm writing this.. Whenever jogging or running would come up, he'd always say "you're a great runner love.. Just over short distances"

Running for heart -  For me, and for Dad ❤️

Will you help me Run For Heart?

This June I'll be feeling my heartbeat as I move a marathon distance to support people in Australia impacted by heart disease.

But I need your support. Every donation you give really means so much to me as I go the distance this June.

Your generosity also goes a long way to support the 1 in 6 people in Australia living with cardiovascular disease.

You'll be helping fund more life-saving research and support that can transform heart disease diagnosis and treatment.

I'm ready to Run For Heart. Are you ready to help save lives? Please donate now.
